    I am hoping that somebody can give me some advice on which project manager program will suit my needs. I will be needing the following functions

    1. free of charge
    2. file sharing
    3. automatic email alert can be sent to members for new tasks. Then from the email, a member could automatically select a task which he/she would like to work on. Finally, other members can be alerted that somebody has already decided to work on this task.

    I am new to this whole project manager thing, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    We use Replicon online project management software for project and time management. At the same time, I had used some free and paid tools in the past.

    Actually, you must be very careful in selecting a project and time management tool because it is very difficult to change from one tool to another as transition is complete hassle.
